Resetting Our Democracy Together

This Blog or Newsletter or whatever you want to call this thing is going to be used for multiple purposes even if I am the only one to end up reading it.

The reason I am naming this publication “Resetting Our Democracy Together” comes from my perspective that our government has been broken in a lot of ways for a long while, that the Trump administration will have demolished it pretty thoroughly before they are done, and that “We The People” will have an opportunity to rebuild it differently (reset it) to work better for us and protect it from future administrations that want to destroy it again. 

I want this writing assignment:

• to allow me to vent a bit 

• to get my thoughts out on “paper” so they quit driving me crazy

• to educate myself about the issues

• to articulate what I want to see from our government and lawmakers

• to invite others to join the conversation and make this journey together

I do not plan to comment much on the current news.  Mostly because there is very little I personally can do to stop it or change it today.  If I do mention current events it will be to give context on why I think the way I do about the issues and provide examples of what is working or not working.  I may also refer to historical information to explain the way it was or is today so I can explain what it is I would like to see changed.  I do not plan to categorize my ideas for the issues as a Democrat or Republican or any other platform. I will let you judge that for yourself. 

I want this to be forward looking. I would love to get a lot of perspectives and opinions even if we disagree.  

Maybe we can influence where our democracy goes into the future or maybe we will just find a community to support and care about each other.

I make no promises as to how often I will write or post right now but hopefully I will tackle my list of topics over the next few weeks.
